Hudson Valley’s Annual Music Festival
The Big Lawn Music Festival is an annual outdoor DIY festival held in upstate New York. This year, we're proud to be back at Plan Bee Farm Brewery in Poughkeepsie New York, celebrating the sixth anniversary of the festival, where we'll host 10 acts for a full day of live music.
The line up consists of a mix of local Hudson Valley bands with NYC artists, ranging from indie, to rock, to rap. We're especially proud to have women, queer, and gender non-conforming folks highlighted on our stage. This festival is a way for up and coming artists to reach an audience and get to know other bands. Audience members are encouraged to tip the bands and follow along with their journeys.
This is a true DIY festival. Creators Emma and Gianna organize the acts, lighting, video, and sound all on their own. Any profit is put back into the festival to make sure the next year is even better!
Meet Emma & Gianna
We're Gianna Tucci and Emma Nicoletti! We are both graduates of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. We currently live in Brooklyn, NY where Gianna works as a professional singer/teacher and Emma as a recording engineer and drummer. In 2021 we decided that we wanted to put together a backyard music festival of all our talented friends, and thus began Big Lawn. Since then we've widened our horizons to all local Hudson Valley and New York City musicians, and turned this festival into a community event. We hope that as the years go on we're able to highlight more and more women, queer, GNC, and minority groups, and build an even more vibrant and creative community.
80% of ticket sales go directly to the festival musicians. We're proud to be able to compensate our musicians for all their hard work. Thanks to the Arts & Culture Grant from Arts Mid-Hudson, we were able to keep ticket prices low while allocating $2,300 to the musicians.
Tickets are $20 and admission is free for children 12 and under. We also offer a Pay-What-You-Can option starting at $1.

Plan Bee Farm Brewery
We're so excited to be partnering with Plan Bee Farm Brewery in Poughkeepsie NY for this year's festival! The farm is no stranger to music, they regularly host local bands outside on their 25 acre property. The stage faces the beautiful 1830's barn that has been completely renovated to house their brewhouse and taproom. Owners Emily and Evan have poured their heart and soul into creating a sustainable, 100% NY ingredient brewery that serves their community.
